Is LGBT homelessness different? Reviewing the relationship between LGBT identity and homelessness

This article explores existing evidence concerning the causes and experience of homelessness among lesbian, gay, bisexual trans (LGBT) people. A total 88 sources, published after 2000, were included in review. represents most comprehensive review to date on issue, mapping out what is known about LGBT identifying gaps knowledge for future research. With a few notable exceptions, experiences homeless people have been neglected UK housing literature. Despite this caveat, we found clear that are overrepresented populations. We argue, however, how why identity increasing person’s chance becoming complex not yet well understood. The therefore calls research agenda offers theoretically informed causal analyses better understand intersections homelessness.
